The 1% has relocated to Mars due to over pollution while the rest of us are left on Earth to go down with the planet. Two estranged brothers, Dakota and Oklahoma, reconnect just as the announcement is made that the planet will be "shut down". Folklore Americana is a passion project, I wrote before the pandemic. A slice of life story in a post apocalyptic world. Set against the backdrop of the California desert, the brothers workout childhood traumas before the plug is pulled on them. Inspired by classic road trip films such as, Paper Moon, Thelma & Louis and Hell or High Water. Picture Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid meets The Day After Tomorrow.

Funds will be used for the following:
Production- This film is going to be shot in Salton Sea, California an abandoned town deep in the desert. Funds will pay for production cost, lodging, equipment rental, prop car, food and miscellaneous costs.
Post Production- Editing and post. Funds will be used to shape the film in the editing bay.
Film Festival Submissions & Los Angeles Premiere. All donors will be invited to attend.
