For decades, I've had a soft spot for Great Danes. They are gentle giants who are generally bred and purchased without consideration for their natural temperament. These susceptible dogs are often mistreated and traumatized.

On March 1st, 2021, we rescued a Dane, MacGyver, who has added a tremendous layer of love to our home. Since then, we have continued to follow One Dane at A Time Inc, with story after story of heartbreak as more and more Danes are discarded.

In place of taking on another dog, this charity will be my focus from Giving Tuesday 2022 until Giving Tuesday 2023, with direct donations, donation requests, and fundraising efforts throughout the year.

More information about One Dane at A Time Inc: One Dane at a Time, Inc.'s mission is to offer asylum, safety, necessary medical care and training to Danes in need throughout California. The number of Danes ending up in shelters has grown exponentially, and they are there to answer that call.
