Hi everyone. On Friday, May 12th, I went in for a routine non stress test to monitor baby. Shortly into the visit, I was told I’m having contractions. They believed it could have been because I was dehydrated so they set up IV fluids. Contractions still persisted to the point I could feel them. We had to get tests done and was determined that I tested positive for preterm labour and we will have to leave town as CR isn’t set up for babies born this early (currently 31 weeks). Baby was given steroid to help his lungs and I was given medication to hopefully stop the contractions. Due to bed restrictions, we’ve been flown to Kamloops. We will be here for 5 weeks if baby doesn’t come due to CR not being equipped until 36 weeks along. If baby arrives, we will be longer as he will have to stay in the nicu. Right now, baby is doing good. Ultrasound looks good and he is moving around a lot which has been reassuring. Due to being in Kamloops, it’s going to be a difficult & stressful road for us as we’re away from family & friends, as well as Kieran, and neither of us working (as well as PTSD with Jaxon). We would be very appreciated with any help you can offer, even sharing our story is appreciated & very thankful for the support we’ve been getting
