If you are on this site then most of you probably know Wes Farrell. I thought I would add some facts about his career just in case you don't know. Wes started as a recruit at Station 27. After staying there for some time and the fact that he was one of a few paramedics on the job at the time he went into the rescue division. I first met Wes as a rookie myself while TA'd to E42 and he on R42. A short time later we both found ourselves at Station 7 on what was then the only Haz Mat team. Lots of good times there with a good crew, which as we all know makes the difference. Going forward, Wes was promoted to Lieutenant in rescue and from there several different locations only to end up at R51 when I got assigned to E44. Again the good times were on. Wes went on to make Captain and again went to several stops along the way. Wes finished his career as the manager of Logistical Support before retiring to pursue other things.
More to the point, Wes has had medical issues before and since leaving JFRD, some as a result of employment. Medically, post-retirement has not been kind to him and now it appears that the fight will be over in mere days. Doctors have diagnosed him with advanced liver disease and unfortunately it is terminal.
I enter this to say that he and his family have exhausted all assets in an effort to live normally, as we all would do, but to no avail and now face the task of final arrangements with no way to pay the bills. I am asking for your donations to be passed on to his wife for that very thing. I know we all get asked to give in a lot of ways but this is what we really are supposed to do. To look out for a brother and his family in need. I thank you in advance for your generosity. God's speed Meho.......
