Our Story . Fredo's Ulcerative Colitis Fund
Fredo has battled Ulcerative Colitis for ten years. He received intravenous treatments at the hospital for years. Each treatment was around $5,000 every 6 weeks. Insurance sent us a letter in Nov. 2013 stating they would no longer cover this treatment even though his specialist wrote a letter stating that he needed it. After this, the treatments stopped working & no longer alleviated his symptoms. This left surgery and prayer as Fredo's only option. He has already had two major surgeries this year & the final surgery (hopefully final) is coming up in about a month. With living on one income (since he cannot work at this time) and all of the medical bills, we would really be thankful for any $1 donation amount. Finances have been our number one stress in this hardship. Thankfully we have good insurance, but it's still a big strain since the first surgery alone was over $100,000. We are growing stronger as a family through this experience. We are planning good things for the future and know that we will come out of this stronger than ever. We hope to be "workout buddies" again next year and sign up for races. This medical situation has been a huge obstacle course for us but we are fighting our way through it. We believe in God's goodness, we believe in healing and restoration and we have hope for a full recovery. We love you all. Thank you to those who have sent kind words, thoughtful gifts, mowed our yard, sent over dinner, called, and came to visit. It means a great deal to us.
