Our dear friend Annette Hansen Bauer was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer in October of 2014 undergoing 2 separate surgeries the early part of 2015. The surgeon was confident they had removed it all and lymph node biopsies were clear. Just 6 months later, in July of this year, they discovered the cancer had spread to her bones, which caused some to fracture, now stage 4. Her oncologist didn’t offer her any hope of treatment or survival. None-the-less, Annette remains hopeful and has put her faith and trust in the Lord to direct her steps and set her on a pathway to healing. This pathway has led her to seek out alternative medicine treatment options. Unfortunately, alternative medicine isn’t covered by insurance. Annette & Steve are very grateful for the resources they have had available to use for deductibles, non-covered medical expenses, along with the initial costs of her alternative treatment protocols. Currently, they travel to Minnesota once a month to a specialist for treatment and follow-up care. Annette also sees a Doctor in Madison 4 times a week for additional therapies and is following up with her oncologist every 3 months. She is in her 4th month of therapies and is discovering amazing truths about how fearfully and wonderfully we are made to heal, even cancer!
Annette is usually on the other side, always giving rather than receiving. During this whole time of being diagnosed with cancer she and Steve sacrificially continued to care for her ailing mother in her home since last year. Her Mom passed away in July, shortly after her 2nd diagnosis. Annette has touched all our lives giving so much of herself in so many ways.
