We Escaped a Car Fire—Now We Need Help to Rebuild
**Our Story**
On August 20, 2025, my son and I experienced something we’ll never forget.
We were driving down I-4 for nearly 45 minutes, heading to drop him off at school and head over to work. It was a normal morning—until everything changed. Just after we exited the highway, my car suddenly shut off. I restarted it and drove maybe a block before smoke began pouring from the hood. I thought it was just overheating.
Then the car lost all power.
While I was trying to figure out what was wrong, my son—feeling intense heat from beneath his seat—jumped out of the car. I was frozen in shock, still inside, trying to make sense of it all. He screamed for me to get out, and that’s when I saw the flames crawling up the hood.
I jumped out just in time.
By the grace of God, we survived. But the car was completely destroyed. We lost everything inside—my purse with all my personal documents, my license, and my son’s basketball bag with his cherished Kobe EYBL sneakers.
What shakes me most is knowing this could’ve happened on I-4. If the fire had started just minutes earlier, we might not have made it out. There was nowhere to pull over, no quick escape. We were truly spared.
Now, we’re without a vehicle. I have no way to get my son to school or to get myself to work. We’re doing our best to stay strong, but it’s hard.
We’re asking for help to purchase a reliable car—whether it’s a down payment or a used vehicle that can get us back on our feet. Any amount helps, and every bit of support means the world to us.
Thank you for reading our story. Thank you for caring. And may God bless you!❤️
