Last night at 8:30 we lost a good one, Mr. Six. I met Six and Linda when they and their wonderful, close knit family moved in next door to me and my housemates. Instantly the neighborhood became more connected. Children playing, splashing, laughing and looking out for each other. Barbeques and family parties became normal, this family celebrates everyone, no occasion went ignored. Six would tell me practically everytime I saw him that he was watching out for me and my housemates. He would sit and talk to me about anything and reassure me that I am ok and to trust myself. Six and Linda have over 30 grand kids, the smallest ones couldn't help crawling all over him. He would tell how frustrated he'd get when they would climb into bed with him, in his eyes though, there was such boundless love and pride in his family.
We even started calling him the Mayor of the block. The loss of Six is a massive blow to so many people, Six was wiser than his 53 years and a man of dignity, respect, humor, directness and honesty. We are writing this to help raise money for the family. They're are travel costs from Minnesota to South Carolina which is most pressing for time and so many other costs to come. Any bit helps.
