We Like to Move It Move It!!

September 25, 2023:

We've exceeded our goal of $10,000!! AND September isn’t even over yet! We are blown away by the generosity and size of this incredible community and never dreamed that we would hit our goal this quickly. Your contributions have fully covered the cost of Ivy’s summer cage therapy, and we are thrilled to announce a new, exciting development. Ivy herself has made a remarkable commitment to further our efforts. She has set a goal to walk an incredible 50 kilometers in the coming weeks. This ambitious endeavor will not only be a personal achievement for Ivy, but will also serve as a fundraising challenge to raise an additional $5,000. This therapy is designed to support muscle development, advance brain and muscle communication, and increase overall muscle strength. Advancing our fundraising goal offers greater flexibility for Jon and Kate to provide Ivy with her ongoing equipment and therapy requirements, keeping Ivy at her maximum strength and flexibility.

We are confident that Ivy's determination and your continued support will help us reach this new milestone. We invite you to join us in cheering Ivy on as she embarks on this inspiring journey towards improved mobility and independence.

The ‘We Like to Move It Move It’ Team

Hello friends and family! This September, members of the Duke family are planning to ‘MOVE IT MOVE IT’ for Ivy Ruth Michelin Duke!! Ivy was born with Cerebral Palsey and has been working like a champ her whole life to master walking. This has included multiple physio sessions per week and more recently an intensive month of 'Cage Therapy' where Ivy is suspended in a cage with the help of bungee cords and a special suit to promote proper muscle movement (more info here if you're interested - cage therapy). For those of us who have been through any amount of physio, we know how much this can cost! AND that benefits only cover so much. For Ivy, physiotherapy will always be a requirement to maximize her strength and mobility. With that said we would like to spend September moving to help Ivy ‘MOVE IT MOVE IT!’.

So far we have the following movement goals set for the month;
