Help Mark and His Family

On July 19, 2022, my nephew, Mark Ogorodnik fell from a tree. Other siblings called for help, and his parents found him lying unresponsive on the ground. His uncle Tim, a trained firefighter who was present, successfully performed CPR. Mark was transported to ICU at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville. Mark sustained multiple fractures, including fractures on both sides of his skull. His brain injury is the most concerning. And according to doctors, Mark has severe brain damage. Mark remains in an induced coma as doctors continue to attempt to control the swelling in his brain.

Ruslan and Anna Ogorodnik, the parents of Mark, have been with him throughout this ordeal. Anna is a stay-at-home mom. Ruslan works for Lee Company and is currently on leave to be with his son. Their remaining six siblings are currently being cared for by relatives.

My heart aches for Mark and his family. As a parent, it is difficult to comprehend what Mark's parents are going through. As Mark faces a lengthy road to recovery, he needs our help.
