Hi, I’m Abiegayle Warburton.

I am originally from Jamaica but have grown up in the UK, and I visit my mum’s side of the family in Jamaica every year. I have close contact with family members across the island, especially in Montego bay Westmoreland and Savanna-la-Mar, areas that were hit incredibly hard by Hurricane Melissa.

My grandparents, both in their late 70s, live high up in the mountains of Westmoreland, and their home has been completely destroyed. Thankfully, they are alive, but many of their neighbours have lost everything, homes, food, clean water, and clothing. I’ve been in direct contact with my family, and they’ve described how difficult it’s been to access basic supplies or reach help due to blocked and damaged roads.

I am raising funds personally to help my grandparents and their community rebuild. The money raised will be used for:

• Building materials (cement, wood, zinc sheets, nails, etc.)

• Essential supplies (food, bottled water, clothing, and hygiene items)

• Local transport to deliver these supplies to families in remote areas

I will personally manage the funds and send them directly to trusted family members on the ground in Montegobay and Westmoreland who will purchase materials locally to contribute to the above. I will provide updates and photos on progress as the rebuilding continues, to keep all donors informed about how their contributions are being used.

While international aid is being sent to Jamaica, small rural areas like my grandparents’ community often receive very little help. Your support will make a direct and immediate difference to real families who need it most.
