Support Lindsay's Fight Against Lymphoma

Donation protected

Where to start... My name is Aimee Clack and I consider Lindsay and Tyler Belk family. We met while working in Labor and Delivery in Anchorage, Alaska and have been close ever since. Lindsay is still a Labor and Delivery nurse, a mom of a little boy, Rowan, and pregnant with a baby girl due at the end of March. She is married to Tyler, a Firefighter/Paramedic for the Anchorage Fire Department. Around Christmas, Linds noticed several swollen lymph-nodes in her neck. After she spoke with her midwife and doctor, they did a workup which was concerning for cancer. She had surgery in January to remove a couple lymph nodes for biopsy. After a few days, it was confirmed. Lindsay was diagnosed with Classic Hodgkin's Lymphoma at 29 weeks pregnant. She has had a lot of appointments and more testing to determine the best plan for treating the cancer and continuing to grow a healthy baby girl. At this time, the plan is for Lindsay to carry this sweet little girl close to her due date. Shortly after delivery she will do a PET scan, have surgery to place a port, and start chemotherapy. Her husband, Tyler, has been by her side through it all so far... and that’s not going to change. Lindsay and Tyler are "give the shirts off their backs" kind of people, people I am lucky to call family. They throw support wherever it is needed-now it is our turn to do it for them. Between having a 16 month old, a newborn, postpartum hormones and recovery, Linds is going to have to throw herself into chemo head on. All while coping with the fact she won’t be able to nurse her baby girl on chemo. They are predicting she will be off of work a minimum of 6 months, if not more depending on the stage of cancer and how her body responds to treatment. Despite her recent diagnosis, she is continuing to work until delivery to save as much paid time off as possible. Fortunately, Tyler gets 1 month of paternity leave through work, but he will need to take additional time off throughout the year to be at home while Lindsay is going through the thick of it with chemo. As you can imagine, they are going to be facing a lot of different challenges this year. Hopefully this fund will help bridge the gap and lessen the financial burden all of this will bring. If you know the Belk Family like I do, you'll want to send love, well wishes, and some financial support if possible. Love, Aimee Clack
