Angela & Dick Healthcare Assistance
Donation protected
As many of you know, my sister Angela’s husband, Dick, has leukemia that has unfortunately proven resistant to treatment. This week he will be leaving the hospital and will be receiving palliative then hospice care through an agency in their home in Nashville. The chemo, complications, and six weeks in the hospital have left Dick quite weak, and he needs assistance getting up and moving around during the daytime as well as having someone monitor him during overnight hours. Angela is hiring home health care aides to be in their home around the clock to assist her in making sure Dick is safe, cared for, and can stay in their home for as long as is possible.
While insurance covers the cost of the palliative and hospice care, it does not pay for in-home care givers. The average cost for a week’s worth of around-the-clock care is approximately $3000. Angela and Dick will be using a large portion of Dick’s retirement monies to pay for this care.
Here's what I can assure you about: Angela & Dick are amazing with their money. It's precisely because they have taken such care with their money that Angela was able to quit her full-time job to care for him when he got sick. Any funds you donate will be used wisely and carefully. I say this with the absolute fullest confidence.
I know that many of you who love Angela & Dick live far away from them, and you want to help but don't know how. Honestly, your financial gifts may well be the most hands-on way to assist at this time.
Please keep Angela and Dick close to your hearts, and if you pray, pray frequently and fervently for them to have peace, courage, and comfort during this sacred time.
Please feel free to contact me (Matt Elliott) with any questions you might have. Thanks for considering sharing your financial gifts.
