On Saturday, August 26, 2023, Angie rushed Kevin to the hospital due to severe abdominal pain. After a CT scan and a lot of poking and prodding, it was determined that Kevin had Diverticulitis along with a micro tear in his intestine. The medical team prescribed a course of antibiotics to hopefully clear up the infection. After five very restful nights in the hospital (let's be honest, no one has a restful night in the hospital), they sent him home.
Following his discharge on Thursday, August 31, he was instructed to return to the hospital daily for the next 14 days for antibiotic injections and regular blood work. After the course of antibiotics is complete, they will perform another CT scan to check for progress. One week into the 14-day outpatient regimen, the doctor called and informed him that his white blood cell count was high meaning the infection was not clearing up. Yesterday when he went to the hospital, they ended up admitting him to the hospital again. Today, he is having surgery to drain fluid from around his colon.
Dealing with health issues is undeniably physically, mentally, and financially draining. Kevin is the primary breadwinner for his family, and we hope to alleviate some of the financial burden, enabling him to focus on his recovery without the added stress of providing for his loved ones. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Please keep Kevin in your thoughts and prayers as he navigates this bumpy road.
