I'm bringing my beautiful Russian Blue baby boy cat back to the UK after his family abandoned him at just 3 months old. I'm disabled with ME/CFS and completeIy signed off work, and I've always wanted a little companion to sit by me in times when I'm bedridden in a flareup as it gets so lonely sometimes! I thought I had enough money to pay his vet bills myself, but after UC underpaid me by a total of £900 this month WHILST I was moving house (!!!) my plans have been thwarted and I have no choice but to ask you, the people, for some much needed support! I know how many of you are invested in our story, so if you even have a couple quid to throw our way, we'd be honoured! And for those who are here with all their love but still don't know the story of how he and I came to find each other, I'll post the whole thing at the end (it's magical!) ✨
I am raising for the the following costs:

The story:
Around 3 years ago, I had a dream I went to a hotel. In my room, there was a huge arched window with a long, flowing, white cotton curtain. Outside the window was a patch of grass, and on it was a little grey cat. She was a British Blue and her name was Lavender.
In the dream, I ran to my Mum to tell her that this was my cat, and I remember feeling so much hope and love in the dream! I then ran to my sister in the dream and explained the difference between a British Blue and a Russian Blue (somehow I knew this information! I woke up and googled and turned out to be exactly right!) I started to look at British Blues and Russian Blues for sale and found out they are a hypoallergenic breed - which is important because I'm severely allergic to most cats. They are so expensive in the UK and I had always wanted to rescue, not buy from a breeder, so I gave up. In Feb 2025, I ended up on a spontaneous, once-in-a-lifetime trip to Morocco (or so I thought.) At the hotel, there were lots of stray cats running in and out. A black and white cat who was pregnant ran up to me and led me to apartment number 5 in the hotel. She started meowing at the door and I could hear another cat meowing back???? I knocked on the door and a lady stood there. Behind her was a little grey cat. He ran straight up to me and jumped into my arms, and then he just relaxed. The lady fed the pregnant cat whilst explaining to me that the little grey one had been abandoned at the hotel by a French family at just 3 months old and that now he lived on street with the strays. I took him to my room and cried on the kitchen floor thinking 'how could anyone abandon you?' Over the week I spent with him, I learned he had the most incredible personality - affectionate, cuddly, playful but chill - exactly what I was looking for in a cat. When he gazed into my eyes, it felt like we'd known each other forever.
I knew I had been chosen as his Mother, and I had no choice but to take care of him. I named him Thomas as he needed a little French boy name and that was the first one that popped into my head! He just looked like a Thomas! Every night of our stay, Thomas would appear at our feet on our way up to the hotel. He slept on our bed each night, curled up in a soft little ball, or snuggled into my chest making 'biscuits' and purring loudly. I vowed I would come back to him, and the hotel staff offered to help take care of him until my return, sending pictures and video updates constantly! Now, he's had his first round of jabs, mid-June was a blood test, then it's 3 months' quarantine in his country of origin and then I can fly him home to Mama! Thanks for your support on our journey!
Love to you all,
