As many of you know, Flynnie Taylor Kolb sustained a devastating traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other injuries following a fall from her horse, Freddie, at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center on February 28th. Flynnie was rushed to the neuro-ICU at the LAC + USC Medical Center, where doctors performed surgery to relieve pressure in her brain. On February 29th, the neuro-ICU team determined Flynnie had sustained multiple skull fractures and severe frontal lobe damage. She remains in critical condition.


The full extent of Flynnie’s injuries and her path to recovery are still unknown. Flynnie appears to have retained motor function in all four limbs, but she is still unconscious and has not yet responded to neurological exams. As such, while it’s early and we are very hopeful that Flynnie will beat the odds, her doctors believe Flynnie will likely require long-term care, in addition to extensive physical, occupational, and cognitive therapy. 


If you know Flynnie through horses, music, lifelong friendships or through her family, you know Flynnie is an amazing and notoriously selfless person who has always gone to great lengths to help her friends and family. We have faith that Flynnie’s remarkable spirit will guide her in her recovery. And we also know her journey will take time. 


Flynnie is also notoriously independent, fiercely so - but as she will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, we set up this GoFundMe in an effort to assist in covering her ongoing medical costs and ensure Flynnie and her family are set up for a successful recovery. Proceeds from Flynnie’s GoFundMe will go towards all financial costs arising out of her accident, primarily medical bills, and will be delivered to Flynnie’s wonderful parents, Hedy and Tom Kolb. All donations, no matter the amount, will help arm Flynnie and her family with the resources she needs to recover.
