Get Adam Lazaro rolling again!

Donation protected
On May 27, 2019, our friend Adam was riding his mountain bike down Little Cottonwood Canyon when he lost control over a drop and crashed head first.  Thankfully, his crash was witnessed by some other riders who were able to get in touch with emergency services and get him out of the canyon and to the hospital. He was admitted to the Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City into the shock trauma ICU unit and rushed into surgery to fuse his spine at the T4 and T5 vertebrae.  As a result of the injury, he is now faced with a complete spinal cord Injury with function lost below the nipple level. Thankfully, he was wearing his full face helmet which saved him from any significant injury to his brain.

Adam is currently in the shock trauma ICU at Intermountain Medical Center with hope to move soon to the trauma unit and then to start therapy.

The road for rehabilitation will be long with inpatient therapy initially, Occupational and Physical Therapy, and then transitioning to outpatient therapy.   As a result of his injury, Adam will spend the next 6-12 months relearning how to live independently without the use of his trunk and legs.

Any donation made will assist Adam and his family with immediate and future medical bills, home modifications that need to be made to allow him to come home and support his family while they figure out their new normal.  Liz Lazaro will be Adam’s beneficiary for these donations.

Adam is a wonderful husband and friend but most importantly he is a wonderful father to his three beautiful children, Ellie (7), Ava (5) and Tom (3), who adore him.  Along side Adam is his wonderful wife Liz.  She and Adam love each other so much that when together their marriage and love for one another is the envy of all.

Thank you to all of you who know and share our love for Adam and his family.   He is an easy man to love and shares that passion for life with all who know him.  He still has a lot of life to live and we want to support him in finding his happiness despite this setback.

Your help is greatly appreciated,

Friends and Family of Adam Lazaro .
