Fly me to my Son- Taylor
Donation protected
A year ago in December my husband Brian recieved a call saying that our 22 year old son ( my sweet step-son); Taylor was in critical condition with an unkown health problem. He was subsiquently diagnosed with a rare disease called Aplastic Anemia. Since that day, he has spent a total of six months at the Cancer Care center in Seattle along with the University of Washington, where he underwent a stem-cell transplant this past August. He has also received 100+ blood transfusions to augment the lack of white cells and plasma.
Brian has been able to visit Taylor twice; once in January of 2016 and again in August- both times relying on the kindness of family and a small bank loan to pay for his stay in the Seattle area.
As of today, Taylor is facing a life-threating diagnosis. He has rejected the stem-cells and has what is refered to as, Graft Verses Host Disease. Brian desperately wants to visit his son but does not have any resouces to draw upon at this time. Taylor is currently at the University of Washington Hospital, receiving intensive care, blood transfusions and (some-what ) experimental treatment. Our fear, of course, is that Brian will not be able to see his son.
As of today we have $500 to pay for his plane ticket. We are asking anyone out there who might have, even a little to donate, please help us reach our goal of $3K.
This money will pay for Brian's stay at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance House-for family of ill patients, his meal expenses, bills and transportation to and from the hospital for two weeks. We are hoping he can be there for Taylor's 24th Birthday, in mid-February.
Visiting his son during this difficult time is of utmost importance . Taylor is scared right now and having a difficult time keeping up with all the news.
We each know that asking for help is very difficult, and very humbling. Never- the- less, your help, love and prayers are so very important to us. Please know that we, his family are eternally grateful for each of you. Our hope remains strong, as does our faith.
With love always,
Ellen, Brian, Jessica, Lindsey, Natalie, Cameron and Madeline.
