*Hobart’s Story*

Hobart was caught by some cat feeders and brought in for TNR in the early stages of pregnancy. During the intake examination, it was noticed that her tail looked odd. An X-ray revealed a fracture in the tail, near the pelvis. The fracture had healed and was not causing Hobart any pain.

Several weeks after she was released back into her area, the cat feeder noticed that Hobart was very ill, so she was taken back to the clinic. She was diagnosed with severe constipation, and she was unable to pass the large mass which had accumulated in her intestines. After emergency treatment she recovered well. The vet believes that the earlier tail injury damage the nerves controlling digestion. The vet said that if her diet is controlled and she receives appropriate supplements, she can lead a normal life. If she were returned to the street, in a short time the emergency condition would occur again and if untreated, would cause her to have a slow and miserable death.

Hobart is friendly and is hoping for a chance to be adopted by someone who is willing to go to a small amount of effort to ensure she has the diet she needs to remain healthy.
