Kimora, more affectionately known as “Kimmie” was a jovial, fun loving, and free-spirited 9-year-old child. She enjoyed the very simple things in life such as going to the park and making new friends. She was highly sociable, inquisitive and always happy. Kimmie looked forward to every Friday with her mother Mikasha for girls day. Girls day was full of shopping, loving mother-daughter eye glances and extreme laughter to mark their moments together.
On Saturday July 11th, Kimmie was seen at UF Health – Gainesville due to stomach pain and a fever of 103. While at the hospital, a battery of tests were conducted, yet a Covid test was not one of them. During her outpatient visit Tylenol was administered to address her fever and she received a couple of shots to address an infection in her body.
Fast forward to July 17th, when Kimmie spent the day playing with family and friends outside and was in great spirits that day. Later in the evening, she informed her mother she was feeling tired, so she was going to lie down. A short time later, Kimmie’s mother went to check on Kimmie and found her unresponsive. CPR was performed by family members until emergency responders arrived. Regrettably, neither of their efforts were successful. Results from a test performed posthumous revealed she was Covid positive.
Unfortunately, Friday July 17th Mikasha’s world came crumbling down. She had to experience, the worst pain imaginable. On this day, she unexpectedly lost her only child due to complications of Covid-19.
No amount of money will ever bring Kimmie back or fill the void in our hearts. Kimora’s family need assistance with accrued medical bills and funeral expenses. We would like to keep her memory alive and her love for others by creating a Scholarship Fund in her honor.
