Fly High For Frank Fundraiser (3rd Annual)

Hey Everyone,

We are running back the aerial plane banner over Dick’s Sporting Goods park this year in memory of our good buddy Frank Hull on Sunday, September 1st (Phish summer tour closer). And this year, we have merch! As I've done every year, I will start the donations off with $500 and the goal will be to raise $1225 to cover the rest of the 2 hour flight over the venue. After that, every $500 we raise will admit a young adult struggling with substance abuse into the Hale House treatment center in Augusta, GA free of charge through the Hamp Pope Memorial Fund . Our goal is to get at least 10 people admitted this year! We miss Frank more than ever and will forever keep his spirit alive through the music that was the joy of his life.

First Year Fundraiser Description:

“As many of you know, Frank was about as diehard of a Phish fan as they come. Last year while we were at Dick's Sporting Goods Park (Phish's Summer tour closer location), I noticed several aerial advertisements and thought it could be a great way to pay tribute to our dear friend. I'm setting up this GoFundMe in hopes of raising $1800 to fly a Banner over Dick's on Sunday (final night 9/4/2022) with a message paying tribute to Frank. This will cover just over an hour of flight time over the park that we'll schedule the hour leading up to sunset. For transparency, the service I am going through is Drag N' Fly Banners and the cost for the plane is $535 an hour. To fly the plane to the park and back it takes Jason about 2.1 hours and the rest of the cost is the flight over the park. We will have 36 characters for the banner and can put any message we want! If you have suggestions for the message, don't hesitate to leave them with your donation or to reach out to me directly. I'll share out the agreed-upon message as soon as it's set. 100% of anything we raise over the $1800 goal will be donated to The Hale House Foundation, a transitional program in Augusta, GA to assist men over the age of 18 with substance abuse problems to recover in a safe recovery residence setting until they are ready to assume responsibility by readjusting to society and resume independent living. The funds will specifically be donated to The Hamp Pope Memorial Fund, whose mission I'm copying below: "MISSION: The Hale Foundation’s initial fees for admission and Phase 1 of treatment are $500. Many of the men coming to the Foundation have lost everything and are unable to afford this fee. The Hamp Pope Memorial Fund was lovingly created to assist these men in getting the help they need. It is designed so that, ideally, when the men complete the initial program, find jobs, and begin earning money, they can repay the account in order to ensure its longevity." Frank would be truly honored to have a message from all of his close friends flying over his favorite band's venue on the night of their tour closer.
