Help Give Bonnie the Farewell She Deserves

The day I learned that Bonnie, this beautiful and courageous soul, had made the heartbreaking decision to leave this world, was a profoundly sad one.

On Friday, 13th December, Bonnie's best friend faced an unimaginable reality, discovering that her dear friend had ended her life. The grief, shock, and wave of emotions in such a devastating moment are beyond what most of us can fathom.

Bonnie’s body has now been released, and she is resting as we prepare to honour her with the farewell she truly deserves. Her best friend has taken on the immense responsibility of arranging her funeral, but as we all know, this comes with significant costs. Unfortunately, there are no funds available to provide Bonnie with the send-off she wished for and truly deserves.

Let down by mental health services and a society that couldn't hold her in her darkest times, Bonnie now needs our support more than ever.

I first met Bonnie at a Sacred Sister Gathering last May. She was a radiant, beautiful soul - troubled, yes, but so determined not to let life defeat her. Her strength inspired many, and her loss has left a deep impact on everyone who knew her.

In times like these, it’s important to lean into the strength of our community and ensure that those grieving have the support they need. If you’re struggling with this news, please reach out - we are here for you.

I have been asked to hold Bonnie’s funeral in my role as an interfaith minister. It will be my privilege to do so, honouring her wishes with a touch of Viking vibes, just as she would have wanted.

I understand that times are tough for many right now, but any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Together, we can give Bonnie the farewell she deserves and support her loved ones in this incredibly difficult time.

I asked Roseann to share a little of what Bonnie meant to her, these are her brave words in this moment:
Bonnie brought me back into the world when my world was pitch black. She was my mum, my sister and my best friend. She coached me, advised me and most importantly, loved me and made me laugh harder than anyone else. She was the smartest person I know and she was always learning something, improving herself in some way, not realising she was already perfect. Everyone loved her, not just me.
She remained a warrior to the very end. I'm so broken because she isn't here now. But we are all so much richer for having her in our lives.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and love.

Can you support us in making Bonnies final farewell the best we can?
