Fly Erwin's Family to CO & Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Per requests, we've created this GoFundMe to assist in paying for family to travel to Colorado to support Dad, Erwin Velbis, during his rehabilitation and to assist in medical expenses.
Last Saturday Erwin suffered his second spontaneous carotid artery dissection, resulting in another severe ischemic stroke. His first stroke happened just over 10 years ago. As of right now (5/23/19), he is stable and oriented, but unable to move his left side and is experiencing severe aphasia. When he is alert enough, he can write using his right hand, which is such a blessing!
His family live in Orlando, Florida and Chattanooga, and Nashville, Tennessee. We are truly moved to tears of gratitude and relief because of those who are requesting to help us travel to be with him. We know there's a lengthy war ahead of him that he's ready to fight. Being able to see and fight him for more than one visit will be a huge blessing and comfort for all! ...Though prayers and encouragement are equally as important and appreciated!
If you're a praying person, please claim God's promises for Dad. Please pray that the providers are thorough in exploring why Dad experiences these spontaneous dissections so that we can do whatever we can do prevent future injuries for him or other family members. If you're not a praying person, please send good vibes or whatever else may help support him and our family. <3
In thankfulness,
-The Velbis family
