Support Cheryl's Recovery

Cheryl Jacobs Smith suffered an accident a few weeks ago with tragic consequences. She suffered severe damage to her spine, among other injuries, and has already endured three long surgeries and many days in the ICU.  She faces a long road to recovery to return home and a life of relative normalcy.

Cheryl is loved by  many in the DC community she and her husband Kyle call home. To know Cheryl is to know her infectious laugh and warm smile. Both are in easy supply for Cheryl, and she is a constant support to her friends. Despite bearing her own challenges over the last few years, Cheryl faced it all with a positive attitude most would struggle to find.

We reach out to you to seek support for Cheryl's recovery. The expenses for her to return to her life as a scientist, friend, and wife will be immense. She requires a helicopter flight to rehab, many weeks of rehab, and likely modifications to her home. The future is not known, but we hope that Cheryl can feel all our love and support during this incredible time of need.
