Hi friends, family, and kind strangers!

I’m reaching out because my sweet boy Fluffy has had a heartbreaking couple of weeks, and his medical needs have completely drained my savings.

I’m a young teacher, and while I love my job, it doesn’t leave a lot of room for emergencies. I also don’t get paid for three months of the year, so I budget carefully. Even so, the last two weeks have been financially and emotionally overwhelming.

Fluffy’s first scare:

In late July, Fluffy started coughing and his meow sounded deeper and strained. Then he stopped eating and drinking. Soon after, he began regurgitating every time he tried to eat. I rushed him to the vet, fearing a blockage. After multiple X-rays, bloodwork, and medications, they couldn’t find a clear cause — but the bills added up to over $1000. I paid it because I couldn’t let him suffer.

Then… the second emergency:

Just two weeks later, in the middle of our move, Fluffy managed to sneak outside. When he came back, he had a swollen, golf-ball-sized wound on his cheek and bite marks on his body. I loaded him into the car (U-Haul still running) and rushed him to the vet again. They drained the abscess and put him on antibiotics. That visit was also one I could not afford.

I’ve had Fluffy since I was 19 years old. He’s been with me through every chapter of my life so far…college, relationships, my first apartment. He’s my first baby, my family, and my heart.

Right now, I’m asking for help to cover the $2,300 in unexpected vet bills that have hit all at once. Anything you can give, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and help ensure Fluffy gets the care he needs without risking my ability to stay afloat financially.
