Hi! I’m Sian, currently living in Cyprus, where I’ve been rescuing some truly special cats. I'm now fundraising to get these cats to their forever homes!

The Cat Crisis in Cyprus

Cyprus has a huge stray cat problem—sick, injured, and abandoned cats are sadly a common sight. I couldn’t ignore it, so I started rescuing and fostering as many as I could. Here’s a bit about their journeys so far:

Slammy Bear: My first rescue, adopted by me. Slammy was abandoned as a kitten.

Newt: A ginger kitten found near the buffer zone with a severe eye infection. His eye has healed, and he’s now bonded closely with Slammy.

Popcorn: Rescued at just a few days old, Poppy was incredibly weak, battling fungal infections, fleas, and worms. Now, she’s a healthy, happy kitten.

Nelson: A partially-sighted cat found hiding in a car engine. He has a forever home waiting for him in Wales (his flight costs are already covered).

Boo: Abandoned as a kitten with little chance of survival, Boo is now thriving and ready for her forever home.

Unfortunately, rescue cats Wednesday, Scoop, Muck, and Dizzy, didn't make it and were lost too soon due to severe health issues. But their stories drive me to keep helping these innocent lives.

Why I’m Fundraising

All the cats in my care need to fly to the UK for their forever homes. While Nelson’s flight is funded and I will cover Slammy’s, I need your help to ensure that Newt, Popcorn, and Boo don’t end up back on the streets. In Cyprus, the streets are a death sentence for cats, with an average lifespan of just 1–2 years.

It costs around £500 per cat to cover flights, vet checks, and other necessary preparations (this is using charities, privately it's around £1000 per cat). Any extra funds raised will be donated to the incredible local charities that have supported me: Meow Meow Cyprus, Project Paw Cyprus, and Cats for Cooperation.
