Floyd's Emergency Vet visit
Donation protected
Hello, I am Holly, and I am trying to raise some money for my dog of 11 years Floyd. Friday morning Floyd was becoming sick. He was vomiting at first and then it turned red. We went out for our usual morning walk, and he was also showing blood in his stool. I called my vet as soon as they opened and went there as soon as possible. They ran a blood test for him. Due to the fact that our vet was closed on the weekend we then headed to the nearest emergency vet. He has been there since. They had done an ultrasounds on him and had found no obstructions or foreign bodies in his stomach or GI tract. He had eaten a little that day I had brought him in but hasn't eaten since. The diarrhea was still ongoing, but luckily with no blood. He has been on an IV since to keep him hydrated. I got an update this morning that they still want to keep him for another 24 hours due to him not eating, so they cannot start antibiotics due to it being a possible infection. And if he does not eat they will have to most likely feed him through a tube. I have had Floyd since he was a pup, he is 11 now. I am completely devastated, and running out of options and means now of paying for his care. I feel hopeless and lost on what to do. Am not sure what decision to make as of yet, and I will be going to visit him later today. My savings are gone and my credit card is now maxed trying to help out my best friend. I am desperately running out of options and decided to ask for some help regarding this matter. I have spent pretty close to $3000 already and they want to keep him another 24 hours which will be close to another $2000. If he doesn't eat today they will have to drain liquids from his stomach and insert a feeding tube. I really am lost on what to do now and any support would help if you can, it would greatly be appreciated. Floyd has been my friend forever, and I'm trying to do what I can to help him out the best I can. Can't really know the outcome of all of this but I at least want to try as much as I can! Thank you for taking the time to hear our story.
