Support Floyd's Fight - Emergency ICU Vet Bills

Hi, I’m Kyanna, and my bestest buddy in the whole world, Floyd (the sweetest corgi ever), is currently in the ICU receiving critical care. Friday March 7th, he started showing out of-the-normal symptoms, and just generally not being himself. Thinking it might have been an “off” day, we let him rest at home. Well on the morning of the 8th, we woke up and everything had taken a drastic turn for the worse. Floyd was now not moving, refusing food, wanted nothing to do with his beloved peanut butter - and noticed his breathing was extremely laboured.

I took him to the emergency vet, as his actual vet did not have a doctor on call - and thank goodness I did! I knew in my gut something was terribly wrong.

Floyd was immediately rushed to the back and triaged. His oxygen was so low, his gums pale, and his breathing got worse. X-rays, Ultrasounds, an CT, and blood tests showed something serious was in-fact going on. The vet and radiologists that examined his results, determined there was some major inconsistent pattern in his lungs with fluid, and believe Floyd is suffering from an awful viral pneumonia, and cardiac issues that could be related, or not.

As of right now, Floyd has to stay in the ICU and receive around the clock care for the next few days, and pray he starts making a recovery. Our vet bill has already surpassed $19k

While I do have pet insurance, as unfortunately a lot of you may be aware, there’s A LOT pet insurance does NOT cover. Whether it be the $350 consult fee as soon as you walk in the door, taxes on total bill, to the simple task of intravenous puncture. So far up to now, I have had to shell out over $5600, and this does not include any further treatment, any more (inevitable) diagnostic imaging, or the consult with a cardiologist on Wednesday the 19th. 

This unexpected expense leaves me in a huge financial predicament, especially as I have been on reduced hours at work lately due to mental health.

 Floyd is my absolute WORLD. If you know me, you know all about Floyd. He is my canine soul mate, and there is NOTHING I wouldn’t do for him. I would go to the ends of the earth for him. He’s not just “a dog”. He is THE dog. He’s the happiest, go-lucky guy, and seeing him like this has absolutely shattered me. I’m an anxious wreck.
