I have had a dream of opening a bakery/coffee shop/cafe since I was very little. Growing up I would drag chairs around the kitchen to stand on so I could reach ingredients and see over the counter. I would make pancakes for any guests that came and stayed, would make desserts for any birthdays in the family or people close to me, and there was no shortage of experimenting with recipes and the kitchen as a whole. For many years the vision of owning a business seemed so far out and near impossible. But recently doors have begun to open and I'm stepping out. Baking has always been my passion, something that gives me joy and sparks my creativity. About 3 years ago, I went gluten and dairy free. Since then I have noticed a big market for exactly what I want to do. I want to start a grain limited and plant based baking business that delivers products that both look and taste good. While the ingredients may be limited, the flavor and texture does not have to be!
I would love your help in kickstarting my journey to pursue my dream and open a baking business. I am aiming to be in three Farmers Markets this summer in Oregon: Salem (Saturdays), McMinnville (Thursdays) and Newberg (Wednesdays) if you want to find me and check out my products. The goal is to also introduce my goods to local coffee shops/cafes/restaurants as I have the resources and connections to do so.
