Flo's 2022 London Marathon
Donation protected
I'm FINALLY taking part in the London Marathon. After years of entering the ballot, securing a place in the 2021 event, and then having to defer due to an ongoing injury, I'm excited to be counting down to the 2022 event!
It's been a tough year of injury rehab, long training runs and flare ups. But, I'm determined to be at the start line AND finish line on Sunday 2 October.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me over the past two years to get here! I've had to set up a second fundraising page as Virgin Money Giving closed down. If you've already made a donation towards my challenge and chosen charities, I have listed your name below - thank you so much!
I have chosen to raise funds for Meningitis Now and British Liver Trust, two causes
very close to my heart.
My wonderful best friend, Sarah, passed away from Meningitis when we were just 19
years old. I think of Sarah every day, and she motivates me in everything I do. My friends and I have been fundraising in her memory since and this is by far my biggest challenge yet!
I urge you to read up on Meningitis and familiarise yourself with the signs and
symptoms. It could save yours or someone else’s life. https://www.meningitisnow.org/
In 2016 my mum was diagnosed with a relatively rare blood disorder that can cause
blood clots. Tests found that she had developed a clot in the main artery to her liver
which has impacted blood flow. Since then, she has had regular scans and last year, scans showed she had developed a growth which has been confirmed as Liver
Cancer. Despite knowing this was a risk for her, it still came as a shock. Since then, my mum has undergone treatment and is doing well. https://britishlivertrust.org.uk/
The training has been a huge challenge for me both mentally and physically, but I have two big reasons to keep me motivated and push through every step on marathon day.
Thanks for reading this far. If you're here to make a donation, THANK YOU - you're
amazing!
Thank you so much for your donations and support. It means so much to me, my
family, my friends and to Meningitis Now & British Liver Trust.
