Florida Trooper Struck by Car

Trooper Andy Ong has been with the Florida Highway Patrol for over 12 years.  He is assigned to Troop-L in Palm Beach County.  Trooper Ong was conducting stationary speed enforcement outside of his patrol vehicle on Interstate 95, when a vehicle changed lanes and struck another vehicle.  Both vehicles swerved towards the center median were Trooper Ong was standing outside of his vehicle.  Trooper Ong’s patrol vehicle was struck by a silver vehicle, knocking Trooper Ong to the ground.  Trooper Ong was then run over by that silver vehicle.  Trooper Ong sustained serious head injuries.  He has had multiple surgeries and will require many more, before he can begin is very long and strenious road to recovery.  Trooper Ong remains in the Intensive Care Unit.
