Florences world Scout Jamboree trip

I am Florence, I am 13 years old and have been selected from 49 girls to represent Girlguiding Leicestershire. The trip is part of the Midland region patrol traveling to the World Scout Jamboree in 2023 in SaeManGeum, in South Korea. I am the only Girl guide from Leicestershire to be attending.

The World Scout Jamboree is an event held every four years and will be attended by over 30,000 scouts from across the world. As well as the traditional elements of a Scout and Guide jamboree, the event gives participants the opportunity to socialise with scouts from around the world, gaining an understanding of diverse global cultures and take part in social action and sustainability projects. The event will equip me with many skills such as independent world travel, camp building and running workshops. Participants must be between 14 and 17, and I will be 14 when I attend.

This exciting adventure will cost approximately £3,500, which will be used to cover travel to and around Korea, accommodation, food, insurance, visas, as well as briefings, essential kit and administration for the trip.
