Florence's Indoor Sports Vision Needs You

As members of the Florence community, and as parents and coaches we've seen firsthand the difficulties families face when it comes to finding safe, active spaces - especially during the many months when weather limits outdoor activity. With a growing number of young families in the area, the need for accessible, year-round athletic opportunities has never been greater.

While many of us have dreamed of building an indoor sports facility in our city, the task is not without its challenges. We accept the challenge - and we need your help.

This project is deeply personal to me. As a lifelong athlete, coach and community advocate, I've experienced the transformative power of sports. My family owned and operated a sports facility in Oakland, Ca for 15 years, serving as a vital hub for our local youth. We brought over two decades of experience in competitive athletics and coaching to that space- and we saw an incredible impact it had on our community. Siuslaw Athletics Academy is more than a dream for me, its a vision rooted in real-life success and a genuine love for sports.

Tai:

After working alongside Hayley as a friend and fellow coach, I've developed a profound respect for her passion and expertise. With a background in business management and community outreach, I've helped lead projects that bring people together, achieve ambitious goals, and make a lasting impact. Supporting the youth of Florence through this academy is a privilege and a responsibility I take seriously.

Our Vision

Siuslaw Athletics Academy will be a year-round, indoor sports training facility for Florence and surrounding areas. Whether you're a young athlete just starting out or someone looking to stay connected to the sport you love, this space is for you. We envision a multi-use facility that includes:

• Professional batting cages and pitching lanes

• Open turf space for agility and sport-specific training

• Weight training and workout areas

• A teen zone for safe, active recreation

• Flexible team practice space for schools and clubs

• Camps, clinics, lessons, and independent training sessions

Efforts are driven by commitment and enthusiasm to give our community more recreational indoor options. Though we will begin with baseball and softball, our goal is to eventually expand to accommodate other sports including wrestling, volleyball, soccer, and more.

We are embarking on an ambitious project to bring comprehensive programs across a variety of sports, empowering our community to reach their full potential on and off the field. However, to provide this long-awaited, needed facility, we need your help.
