This ministry is in dire need of support.
Oasis ministries four years ago started renovations at their property and place of worship Foundation Church located at 2808 West Gibbs Rd in Virginia Beach, Va. The pandemic came at a time when support was crucial to this ministry. It was founded in 1965 under the administration of Herman T King, Pastor Cleo Park King and the late Pastor Earlene Wilkins. A small Chapel was build on the West Gibbs Rd property along side the residence which also served as the central business location. The ministry flourished under the late Pastor Cleo King in the community of Blackwater, serving the rural community of Virginia Beach. During Pastor King’s tenure the church had a flourishing accredited school for children and a far reaching gospel ministry broadcast. They held services weekly spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Rev. Florence Broady founder and CEO of Oasis Ministries had the privilege of meeting Pastor Earlene Wilkins around 1990 and the two became close friends and prayer warriors connecting their ministries together through prayer. As the years passed their last Pastor Rev. Earlene Wilkins became very ill, unable to conduct services and the membership dwindled as her health declined. She continued to hold services in her home up until the day God called her home in 2019. During her illness she was unable without financial support to maintain the property which is now in dire need of repairs. The present Pastor Florence Broady had partially completed the renovation process and reorganized the ministry. After pouring a great deal of finances into the project of renovation, the property built way back in 1965, did not withstand a severe hurricane storm which did such damage it caused the entire renovation process to come to a halt temporarily. We are in great need of donations and volunteers. Our vision is to provide a building which will serve as a War Room for holding prayer, a War college to educate God’s leaders, a School of Prophets to train those with the gift of prophecy and a Healing Room for those in need of both spiritual and physical healing. We also will provide free counseling to those in need and assistance to the poor. Please help us restore our Building and Chapel so that we can once again minister effectively to the Virginia Beach Community. This is the quote given by the contractor of what is needed to repair the outside of the building. We are trying to raise the initial $30,800 Contractors estimate that will cover the cost to repair the extensive damage done to the exterior. The break down is as follows;
Roof and Window Repair
Roof Framing and Decking $9368
Roof Installation (R-30). $1,680
Roof Shingles $2,400
Felt and Vapor Barrier $1,409
Total Cost $14,857
Aluminum Windows and Sliding Doors
Windows $11,574
Doors $3,600
Total Cost $15,174
The final total $30,031 includes cost of materials, demolition, dumpsters and hauling away all debris. Please help us to accomplish the vision God has burning in our heart!
