Colette is facing a total loss of property, equipment and possessions. She has decided (with a very heavy heart) to dissolve her company, release her employees and relocate to the West Coast (UNLESS WE CAN HELP HER!) Colette is facing an extraordinary financial burden (150k+) in losses and she and her neighbors carried no flood insurance. We have created a Go Fund Me in the wild hope that we can reverse this event, give her hope, and help her rebuild. She is under a mountain of stress and difficult decisions. Consider that only weeks ago, everything was progressing as well as expected, and now, she has lost everything she has worked so hard to build and sustain! Lets show her the strength of her friends!
We are here to build support for our beloved contractor, Colette Long, owner of Island Creek Landscaping. Colette and her mother were unfortunate flood victims of Hurricane Florence. Their entire neighborhood went 8'-10' underwater. The development was never considered to be in a flood danger zone area. 70% of the community was completely underwater, and no residents had flood insurance. As a result of the catastrophic flooding, Colette's home, personal belongings, and equipment are an utter loss. She will be forced to leave our area forever if she cannot get help, at the cost all the relationships and friendships she has fostered for the last decade. We hope that she can rebuild her life here, and not let this hurricane be the defining reason that she had to leave. We hope the proud nation and state we live in can make her proud, give her hope, and prove that no one is alone in the face of tragedy in this great nation.
We here at SiteOne Landscape Supply in Wilmington NC, and all of SiteOne , would like to rally support for our good friend and neighbor. We believe this is our best, and most likely, our only chance, to provide the level of support Colette and her mother need! We appreciate any donations, help, and best wishes! Lets show the nation that we are indeed Carolina strong!
