My name is Florence Atrafi and I was born in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, I had to leave my birth country at a young age because of the war. In the Netherlands I got the opportunity to pursue my education. Hence, on 26th of January 2022 I am going to defend my PhD title.

 

Afghanistan has been a war torn country for over 40 years and its people have faced lots of tragedies with currently facing one of worst humanitarian crises. More than 55% of the Afghan population (23 million people) face extreme levels of hunger and nearly 9 million of them are at risk of famine.” (Source, The Guardian).

 

Additionally, for many Afghan children access to education has been limited and now for Afghan girls and women access to education is brutally denied.

 

I have been privileged to have the chance to continue my education at an academic level. Therefore, I want to use this opportunity to raise money in aid of Emergency and every donation will help.

 

Emergency is an organization I wholeheartedly support for they have treated millions of people in warzones and have educated thousands of locals to provide healthcare.
