What is Ultimate Frisbee?

Hello - I am Florence!

I have been selected to represent Great Britain (Under 17s) at this year's European Youth Ultimate Championships (EYUC) in Belgium this year.

I was first introduced to Ultimate Frisbee two years ago, when I went to secondary school at St Peter's CofE school in Exeter. I was introduced to the sport by my teacher, Paul Ruff.

He developed me into a first team player for the school and I regularly attend youth championships where I represent my school against other UK Ultimate Frisbee teams. The school team has won multiple tournaments, most recently, UKU Junior Open Outdoor Nationals / Schools National Championships 2023, where we won the Under 14 category.

Unfortunately, the teacher that inspired me to take up the sport died in February 2024 and this has had a massive impact on my mental health and it made me question if I should continue in the sport - however, I am determined to be successful and I want to use all the faith shown in me to be part of a winning team in August.

As Ultimate Frisbee is a self-funded sport, I am required to pay for all of the training, travel, accommodation, kit and meals whilst I am representing Great Britain and therefore, this requires investment.

Any donation will go towards the following costs:

I hope you can spare a small amount of money for me to be able to reach my target, so that I can represent my country and bring home the win.

I am also asking for £1,000 on top of my costs to allow my mum and dad to be able to come to Belgium and watch me play for GB. It would be a great opportunity for them to watch me play - as they would not have enough money without a donation to be able to come and watch me.
