Flora & Ada's Sponsored 10k bike ride
Donation protected
On Saturday 22nd June 2024,Flora and Ada are doing a 10k sponsored bike ride to raise money for our lovely friend Noah. Noah would really benefit from having a specialised therapy bike but the quote for having one is around £1800! His wonderful parents have managed to raise most of the money, but the girls have decided they would love to try and raise some money towards it to.
Here's a little bit from Noah's Mommy.....
In 2017 we welcomed our first baby into the world. Noah suffered a lot as a baby with reflux and allergies but we thought that was as far as it went. As he got older we noticed he wasn’t hitting the milestones the same as other babies but we were told to wait it out and that he was just being a lazy boy. By the time we were finally listened to and he got his first appointment he was 16 months and our worlds changed forever as he was diagnosed with global delay and told he needed blood tests to search for genetic abnormalities. His test results showed he had a genetic deletion 2p16.3. Noah is completely non verbal (although he can be very vocal), he is developmentally 12 months old and faces many sensory challenges. He has made huge progress this year and has started walking just before he turned 6! He is such a wonderful soul with so much love to give and deserves all the opportunities that other children have. Because of his complex needs we are not able to buy him a standard bike or trike and instead have had him assessed for a personalised trike by Theraplay. It will be set up to support Noah’s needs and make him feel safe and secure. We will also be able to attach his bike to an adult bike to allow family bike rides - which is something we didn’t ever think would be possible.
We are hoping with help and support we can give him the life experiences he deserves. it will also further support his muscle development and strengthen up his legs and hips.
Thanks in advance if you are able to sponsor the girls in their cycling attempt.
