My name is Brookley and I live in Kansas city Missouri.  In the early morning hours on August 27th, my Uncle Darryl,  his wife Michelle, their Daughter Angela, and her 3 kids, were forced out of their home as flood waters poured in. They ran to Rv for safety, but only after an hour they where they forced into a jeep as the water continued to submerge. So 3 adults, 3 children, and 3 dogs sat for about 8 hours until help arrived. They were rescued by boat and taken to a safe area where they were transported to Galveston, Texas with only the clothes on their back. They couldn't stay long because the city was evacuating to higher ground, so the Army picked them up in a C130 airplane and flew them to Irving,  Texas, which is right outside of Dallas, to stay in a shelter for the time being. They have nothing, some, not even a pair of shoes on their feet. They have really been through hell and reality is starting to settle. This isn't the first time his house has been hit by a hurricane. Hurricane Ike took out their house in 2008 and it took years to rebuild. My uncle has worked too hard to keep his house, and to just walk away from it , is really a tragedy. So I have come here to ask for donations towards saving his house, car repairs, cleaning fees, supporting their needs such as food, clothes, etc. for the time being .  All donations are going straight to him and his family. I set the goal at 10k and we are really making progress. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. My family really appreciates it. My uncle Darryl is a good man, and he always lends out a helping hand when it is needed. This time he needs help and I, as well as others are here for him and his family.
