I am usually great at helping others, and not great at asking for help for myself. I am working on that.....
*Anything over my goal raised will be used to help others who are lacking support and struggling. Pay it forward. Thank you all for your kindness and generosity. *
On Tuesday March 5th, 2019 I had to flee from my home along the Russian River because the water was rising and predicted to enter my house. When I left at 2am the water was just starting to come through my front door. The Russian River crested on March 6th at over 46 feet. My little cottage took 6 feet of water. I had worked hard to save some of my stuff, however I did not have enough time to save it all. My kitty and I were safe and thats what mattered most.
Now I am homeless, and have been staying with friends, and for that I am so grateful. My landlord does not know when my cottage will be rentable again, likely several months of restoration. I am looking at other options and trying to sort my life out and figure out where I will live. I was not prepared to move, I have not even been in my place a solid year yet and am in need of some help from my community. I will have to replace some stuff lost in the flooding, and come up with a deposit if I find a viable rental. Its all a bit overwhelming but I am muddling through it.
I am most grateful to any of you who might be able to provide me with a little support during my time transitioning out of the mud and into a safe dry home. Thank you.
