Flooded Camera Replacement for David
Donation protected
A couple of weeks ago, while walking around Carburn Park Calgary, David was taking photos. Probably of couples walking, a family, birds, or any number of other things as he usually did. He was always experimenting with photography. Always looking to try something different. Whether it be a new lens, a new style or any else. During this walk, however, he dropped his Canon 5D Mark IV into the lake by accident. After trying everything, including taking the camera apart and drying it out. It has not come back to life, unfortunately.
He's one of those guys that is absolutely infatuated with photography. Whether he's teaching classes to beginners, standing on the other side of the lens as a model, or just always out and about at one of many spots. He's always involved. He started the Calgary Amateur Photographer's group on Facebook over 9 years ago and it's now one of the largest (if not THE largest) Photography groups in the Calgary area. He's not only providing education through his classes that he puts on for nothing or next to nothing (Depending on the location); but he's also putting out constructive feedback in a positive way, answering questions and showing people through doing how to make better photographers.
We're trying to raise the money to not only get him a new camera after his fell in the water, but we know he's been wanting to upgrade to a Canon R5 or R5 Mark II, but hasn't been able to yet. We've decided to help him with this. We're looking to raise the $4200 to get him the R5 Mark I with the adapter. If you can, please help us so he can continue to teach, learn, and grow with the rest of us. We've managed to secure a slight deal on one with The Camera Store until July 21 at the latest so we would like to be able to purchase it for him by then. Thank you so much for donating and/or sharing this to help us get to this goal!
