Flood victims in Thessaly Greece

Hello, our names are Stella Daskalakis and Christina Lampiris.

We are the President and Vice-President of an organization in Toronto Ontario - the Society Nomou Larisis "Ta Tempi". This organization was founded over 34 years ago, by people from the region of Larisa- an area that is in the heart of Greece known as Thessaly.

Hurricane Daniel recently pummelled Greece. But, even now, as the flood waters slowly recede and the authorities begin to catalogue the scale of the destruction, it is clear the agricultural heart of the country has been devastated beyond recognition.

Many people in this region have suffered crippling losses from this storm. What remains is a broken land, rain-sodden and bruised, covered with the detritus of all that fell foul of the storm, animate and inanimate, fish, birds, bees, dogs, cats, livestock, homes, buildings, bridges and roads.

Any amount you decide to donate will be very much appreciated and will make a huge difference in the lives of our countrymen whose lives have been upended. Together, we can help them restore and rebuild a place that we all know and love.
