Hi everyone,

I'm creating this fundraiser for my brother, who recently went through something no one ever prepares for. Heavy rain in the Chicago area caused a flood in his place he was starting to live in and in just a short time, he lost so much - his clothing, TV, couches, and other essentials that made his place feel like home.

he lives in the lower part of the home and was turning it into his own place.

It's been a really tough time for him and all of us who are trying to help and get through this not just financially but emotionally as well. Starting over after something like this is overwhelming, but I know with the help of family, friends, and kindhearted people, he can get through it.

we tried to save as much as we could but this all happened around 2AM till 5AM Saturday night and the water didnt stop.

i tried to take pictures but when the chaos was happening, no one thought about taking pictures, but simply to try and help get rid of the water with buckets and save whatever we could. Unfortunately, the damage was already done to the appliances. The bed, the couches, the center table, his shoes in a lot of his clothes that he had on baskets. And all I was able to take pictures of was when we got the water out and tried to clean.

We're asking for any support to help him replace the basics he lost and begin rebuilding his place and comfort. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference — and even sharing this page means the world.

i apologize I’ve never done this before so I’m not even sure how to explain this situation or go about it all but we never know what will happen tomorrow or in the future.
