Dear caring friends,
I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart regarding the crisis unfolding in Southern Brazil. Unprecedented rains and floods have devastated our communities, leaving many without homes or hope.
In my hometown of Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, over two-thirds of the town is submerged, and more than 120,000 people have lost everything (many of those are my friends/family). The situation is overwhelming; we have never experienced anything on this scale before, and the waters are still rising. Many lives have been lost, and thousands are awaiting rescue. They find refuge in shelters, where volunteers are working tirelessly to gather essentials, but their efforts alone aren't enough.
That's why I'm asking for your help. Even a small donation can make a big difference. With your support, we can provide much-needed relief to the displaced, purchasing blankets, food, water, and other essentials to ease their hardship. Together, we can offer solace to the grieving, hope to the despairing, and light to the darkest corners of despair.
Please consider donating $5, $10, or whatever you can spare. Your kindness will help rebuild lives and restore faith in humanity.
I'll be distributing the funds raised from this fundraiser among trusted volunteers, shelters, organisations of Canoas and nearby towns that are in immediate need of supplies.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Gabriela
