This fundraiser is organised by the team at tuktukrental.com, a social enterprise operating in Sri Lanka and Cambodia, dedicated to supporting local communities and livelihoods. In response to the severe flooding caused by Cyclone Ditwah on 28 November 2025, our team initiated this campaign to provide immediate relief and recovery support to flood-affected families across Sri Lanka.
Who are we raising funds for?
We are raising funds on behalf of multiple flood-affected communities and families across Sri Lanka. Our team is working directly on the ground with volunteers, local partners, and community leaders to identify urgent needs and deliver assistance. This fundraiser does not support a single individual, but rather helps families who have lost access to food, safe shelter, and basic necessities due to flooding.
How are the funds transferred?
Funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign are transferred to a dedicated organisational donation account managed by our team for disaster response. From this account, funds are used directly for procurement, logistics, transportation, and volunteer-led relief operations. All spending is managed locally to ensure fast and effective response.
How are the funds used?
Donations from this campaign are used for:
- Emergency rescue and evacuation support
- Temporary relocation and immediate relief for affected families
- Procurement and distribution of dry rations, drinking water, medicine and essential supplies
- Post-flood clean-up operations through our Mud Army volunteer initiative
- Support for early-stage rebuilding and recovery efforts
- Purchase of medicine and surgical equipment for Kandy Base Hospital facing shortages and delays for the Cardiology section.
- Support for resilience through purchase and distribution of solar lights to the affected in partnership with Tea Leaf Trust.
We prioritise immediate humanitarian needs first, followed by clean-up and recovery once floodwaters recede.
