Flood Relief for the Garrett Family

On November 13th, the Sacramento area had a deluge of rain--inches of rainfall in just a couple of hours. The ground water rose quickly and flooded the Garretts' house. In a matter of minutes the house had four bedrooms under water. The fight to save the house, curtail the water, rescue stuff, dry out, etc. has been ongoing since then. Their insurance does NOT cover the costs. They just moved in this past May! The fight to keep any mold away has been exhausting. Their temporary housing fell through and they need a better breathing space to be. With Thanksgiving just days away, places are costly and booked.

This has been a devastating blow for any family, but especially for Alan and Marialice during a time when they were already stretched thin.

Marialice is currently recovering from major neck and spine surgery, making this upheaval physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting. And Alan, a deeply loved local teacher, continues to show up for the students and families in their community—despite navigating chaos at home. They are now facing costs far beyond what they can handle alone.
