Flood Relief for The Farmers
Donation protected
At 2:00 am on June 7, Carrie Ann and Beau awoke to water in their master bedroom that had already spread through the rest of the home. Within minutes it rose up to 3 feet. With emergency services unable to help, they waded through the water to get Duke and Hazel out of their rooms and to their nearly flooded vehicle to drive to safety at our parent’s home.
Their home is destroyed along with most of their furniture and many irreplaceable personal items. Thanks to the incredible network of friends, family and volunteers, they were able to remove most of the items in their home in a matter of hours and start the demo work to help limit the spread of mold.
It is estimated that there was $25,000-$30,000 worth of damage to the house alone, not including the cost of replacing the contents. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover the flood damage, so Carrie Ann and Beau are tackling these expenses on their own. Many people have already contributed their time and money. Many more have asked how they can help. Right now they need funds to pay for all of the material and labor that is necessary in order for them to return to their home.
If you would like to make a contribution, you will help them pay for the following projects so Beau, Carrie Ann, Hazel (2), Duke (14 mo) and Baby Farmer #3 can have their home back:
• Mold Removal from the Kitchen
• Purchasing the items and cost of labor for installing all new doors, dry wall, molding, and floors throughout the entire house.
• Paint for all internal walls.
• Replacing all lower kitchen cabinets after mold removal
In addition to these projects, they also will have to replace the following large pieces they lost. Please let us know if you have items you could donate.
• Twin bed & Mattress for Hazel
• Baby Bed & Mattress for Duke
• Living Room Furniture: 3 side tables, 3 chairs, couch, 2 rugs
• Rocker for Nursery
• Containers for Toys
• All cloth toys & baby blankets
• Linens: curtains, bed linens, blankets, shower curtains, bath mats, towels
• Household items: diapers, toilet paper, paper towels
