Flood Relief for Ronnie & Darlene Toungette
Hi all....my name is Katie (Chisholm) Rushton, and I am setting up this fundraiser to benefit Ronnie and Darlene Toungette. Ronnie and Darlene are near and dear to me and my family. They are my second family, and they unfortunately lost their home and everything in it in the devastating flooding in Waverly, Tennessee on August 21, 2021. Darlene was inside their home on Sutton Avenue as the flood waters were raging, and her daughter Amanda was across the street on the roof of her home waiting to be rescued. We are forever grateful to the 2 neighborhood heroes who pulled up on a jet ski and pulled Darlene out of a window as Amanda watched her mom being rescued from across the way. Their home is a total loss, so Ronnie and Darlene will need to rebuild their home and their lives from scratch.
Many of you know this family well, as Ronnie served as the Humphreys County Sheriff for 26 years. He was first elected in 1980, and the residents of Humphreys County kept electing him year after year until his retirement in 2006. Darlene has also been a big part of the local community, as she has worked for the District Attorney's office for several years.
Over the years, Ronnie and Darlene have loved on and cared for the Humphreys County community, their five children, their nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and now it's time to help take care of them! Please donate whatever funds you are able to help Ronnie and Darlene get back on their feet and begin to rebuild their lives. Thank you!
