Flood relief for Jason
Donation protected
When the dams burst, it raised the water enough to cover the main floor of my house with almost 10 inches of water. Prior to the dams bursting, I had moved everything upstairs. At this point my basement was still dry. I thought it would be safe. I was wrong.
When the water subsided enough for me to assess the damage, it was unreal just how much I had lost.
To make matters worse and even more stressful, I seem to have fallen in a "fine print" loophole where my flood insurance will only cover the house (not the contents) and my home owners insurance will not cover flood damage.
It's really hard for me to ask for help, in any sense of the word. I will often struggle on my own til I collapse before I reach out for help. Those of you who know me well, have seen that time and again.
That being said, I'm reaching out now because I am overwhelmed by the immense burden this has become and will be for the foreseeable future.
I know this is a hard time for everyone with everything going on. But if you have the ability to help, I would be forever grateful, and would gladly return the favor if ever you were in need.
I'm asking for half of what my flood insurance deductible would be. The deductible is $5000.
