Flood Recovery for Zelly & Victoria
Donation protected
Help is needed for the unexpected expenses caused by flood damage on July 6th in Chapel Hill, NC. Zelly and Victoria have lost much of their furniture, groceries, personal belongings, and have the added expenses of a storage unit rental and more as everything comes to light. They're currently living upstairs in their apartment with a planned move out this weekend if everything goes well. All food is spoiled, most downstairs furniture was ruined, they're currently having the wood floors ripped out, the complex has supplied a dehumidifier and it's 92° there with a "feels like" rating of 102° and 56% humidity. Electricity was restored late Monday. Victoria's car is totaled, but covered by insurance, thankfully. They have a rental car in the interim.
They will need to replace furniture, groceries, hire movers, and more in the coming days and weeks. Please share what you can as family and friends to help lighten the physical burden a bit as they recover from a terrifying night of flash flooding and being trapped upstairs with rising water in a blackout. They are physically ok and working to reset their nerves while chaos continues around them and their poor kitty Thane. If you've reached out to Zelly, she'll get back to you as she's able. There is A LOT going on at her complex and many details to figure out very quickly. Thank you!!!
